Workshop on Plastic Waste Management

Major Ajaib Singh Convent School, Jeonwala successfully organized a Workshop on Plastic Waste Management on 18th October 2022 with the objective of creating awareness about environmental conservation and responsible waste management practices. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST), the State Nodal Agency, and was catalysed and supported by the Indian Pollution Control Association (IPCA).

The programme witnessed the gracious presence of eminent experts, including Ms. Reena Chadha, General Manager, IPCA, Dr. Mandakini Thakur, Project Scientist, PSCST, Chandigarh, and Dr. K. S. Bath, Joint Director-cum-Head, STEM Outreach Programme, PSCST, Chandigarh, who shared their valuable insights on plastic waste management, environmental sustainability, and the importance of adopting eco-friendly practices.

The resource persons educated students about the harmful effects of single-use plastics and encouraged them to embrace the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in their daily lives. The workshop inspired students to become environmentally responsible citizens by promoting the messages "Be Zero Waste," "Go Green," and "Say No to Plastic." The programme concluded with a pledge to protect the environment and work collectively towards building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
